Job DetailsJob Location: West Suburban YMCA - Wauwatosa, WI 53226Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $18.00 - $19.00 HourlyGENERAL FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of the Aquatic Director and in accordance with Association policies, the Aquatic Specialist will ensure safety and high-quality experiences in YMCA pools and aquatic areas for all members, guests, and program participants. The Aquatic Specialist will assist with member and participants' needs, provide excellent customer service, and maintain a safe aquatic environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as a lifeguard and/or swim instructor for the aquatics department; creating an environment that is safe, welcoming, and nurturing for all members and guests. Prevent accidents by scanning assigned zone from bottom to top and covering zone in compliance with national lifeguard surveillance standards. Conduct swim classes, while in the pool, in accordance with Y of the USAs Swimming Lesson Program in an enthusiastic and exciting way while maximizing swimmer participation in every class period.
