Associate Director of Product Compliance

Job description

Thuma is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Product Compliance to join our San Francisco Bay Area-based team, responsible for ensuring that Thuma products meet performance, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance standards across global markets. This role will validate material and product performance, define quality and durability expectations, manage third-party testing strategies, and support risk-based decision-making as Thuma expands into new product categories, materials, and constructions. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation, sound judgment, and deep familiarity with home furnishings regulations across key markets, including the U.S. and Canada, and will act as a trusted partner to Product, Design, Sourcing, Legal, and Operations - able to clearly communicate complex topics, outline risks and tradeoffs, and guide teams toward informed, practical decisions while supporting training and alignment across internal and external partners.
