Facilities Specialist 260000MU Description This position is responsible to plan, assign and supervise work of building maintenance technicians in the construction, alteration, repair and preventative maintenance of buildings, floors, painting, roofs, walls, stairways, doors, windows and other structures of the medical complex. Estimate time and materials required for jobs. Supervise/Order materials, supplies and inventories. Prepare plans and sketches. Ability to read and understand plans and specifications prepared by architects and engineers. Inspects projects upon completion for compliance to work requests. Perform related duties as required. Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of all policies and procedures for all relevant areas within facilities, train staff as appropriate, and ensure all staff are in compliance with regulatory requirements. This position will provide expertise and support to all engineering specialists as needed. The position will consult with the following standards: Joint Commission, DC Department of Health, EP A, DCRA, OSHA, Architects, Engineers, Construction Managers, Space Management, International codes & standards, and other regulatory agenc...
