POSITION PURPOSE: The Controller is responsible for the accurate and timely day-to-day operations of the financial accounting function, internal controls and processes, account reconciliations and accurate financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Coach, train, provide management support and guidance to direct report(s) on deliverables and accounting strategies. Fosters a collaborative, highly functioning team with growth goals for the accounting function and individual development. Develop a team skilled in accounting practice and curious to understand the business, the business’ needs and be able to connect the dots to drive efficiency while delivering quality service. Lead and manage the timely and efficient completion of annual external audits. Ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards. Oversee the monthly and yearly financial close schedule for the GL Team. Review and approve monthly journal entries and reconciliations prepared by the GL team.
