POSITION SUMMARY: Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the application of non-ionizing high frequency ultrasonic waves to humans for a diagnosis of disease. Also performs clerical duties that may be related to the procedure. Education: - High School graduate or equivalent. - Graduate of an approved school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent experience accepted by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist. License/Certification/Registration: - Demonstrates the ability to work with patients and their families who are often under physical and/or emotional stress. - Demonstrates ability to work cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, other departments, and providers. - Registered in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Sonography (S) required. - Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT, RVS, RT (VS)) required. - Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
