Job description

Job Summary: The Payroll Accountant III is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of payroll-related financial processes. This includes preparing and maintaining payroll account reconciliations, supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, and providing support for internal and external audits. The Payroll Accountant will also identify opportunities for process improvements, maintain compliance records, and provide subject matter expertise on key financial/accounting matters. Essential Functions: Maintain accurate tax jurisdiction setup in payroll systems to ensure proper withholding and register for state and local tax accounts. - Prepare and maintain payroll-related account reconciliations including payroll tax accounts and investigate and resolve discrepancies between payroll system records and tax filings. - Prepare and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities by preparing and ensuring all adjusting and accrual journal entries and entered and posted. - Support internal and external audits by providing payroll documentation, reconcile and validate data, sampling and testing, and analysis. - Identify, recommend and implement...
