Employment Type: Part time Shift: Day Shift Description: The Clinical pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, appropriate, and cost-effective use of medications. He/she provides expertise on drug therapy initiation and monitoring to all customer groups served by MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, working collaboratively with other health care professionals to devise the most appropriate drug treatment for patients. The role of the clinical pharmacist sometimes extends outside the hospital, sharing their specialized knowledge with other hospitals, clinics, and care settings. Performs clinical review of patient in area of responsibility. Prospectively identifies and prioritizes potential and /or actual medication-related problems and/or alternative therapies. Provides information to medical staff, nurses, or other health care personnel concerning all aspects of clinical pharmaceutical information pertaining to the patient’s care and well-being, keeping in mind the confidential nature of all such information and communication.
