Position Overview: - Department: Mission Integrations - Schedule: Mon-Friday with rotating weeknights and weekends - Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham and UAB St. Vincent's East - Benefits for eligible positions include: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more What You Will Do: The clinical ethics consultant works in tandem with patients, families, and the front-line, multidisciplinary team as the first responder for ethics case consultation and preventative ethics. 1. Provides both individual and group clinical ethics consultation, working collaboratively with 2. healthcare providers, patients, and surrogate decision-makers on ethical concerns. 3. Provides prompt responsiveness, ensures ongoing communication with individuals involved 4. in the case, and follows through on all of the deliverables of the consults.5. Assists in the development and delivery of educational activities regarding clinical ethical 6. issues for physicians and staff. Actively involved in Schwartz Rounds and Ethics Case 7.
