Employment Type: Full Time Job Summary: The City of Olathe is hiring one Fleet Maintenance Technician for our Heavy Duty / Diesel Equipment team. This position may be filled at Technician Level I, II, III, or IV, level, depending on the selected candidate’s verified experience, certifications, and overall qualifications. Candidates who do not meet the requirements for a higher-level designation may still be considered for placement at the appropriate technician level. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. What You’ll Do: - Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, brake, suspension, and drivetrain issues - Perform preventive maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and related equipment to keep City fleet operations safe and reliable - Complete repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, air brake systems, PTO systems, and hydraulic components - Perform equipment installation, fabrication, welding, and acetylene cutting as needed - Maintain accurate service and repair records - Respond to emergency and after-hours service needs w...
