JOB SUMMARY: The Code Enforcement Manager is the supervisory level class within the Code Enforcement Division responsible for performing and overseeing the work of staff engaged in investigating conditions, initiating procedures and providing educational programs to abate violations involving zoning ordinances, building codes, housing codes, public nuisances, property maintenance, abandoned vehicles, animals, license regulations and other issues relating to health, safety and welfare of the community for public and private residential, commercial and industrial property. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Code Enforcement Officer certification is required. Five years' experience in code enforcement, abatement, or legal administration and a knowledge of Building Inspections and related fields is preferred. Special Requirements: - Possession of a valid class "C" Texas driver's license or higher. - Certification and licensed by the State of Texas as a Code Enforcement Officer, or able to obtain the Code Officer Certification within a 12-month period.
