Engineering Technician

Job description

The Engineering Technician prepares cost estimates and designs drawings for the fabrication and installation of gas distribution and transmission facilities; may direct other employees or contractors as assigned; may perform and coordinate compliance related activities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires experience and training as a GIS Specialist, Construction Technician or equivalent engineering related classification or experience and training in the natural gas construction field. This position must have knowledge of general construction practices, engineering standards, federal/state pipeline safety regulations; fundamentals of land surveying, soil structure and conditions; use of office equipment such as reproduction machines, calculators, personal computers, etc.; PC software programs including spreadsheets, word processing, and AutoCAD; advanced drafting practices and skills; use of engineering filing procedures and record keeping. This position must also be able to interact effectively with outside agencies and internal departments.
