Job description

Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of healthcare providers and serves patients by greeting and helping them; scheduling appointments; maintaining records and accounts, checking in and checking out patients, collecting payment and verifying insurance as needed. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Interviews patients, accurately takes vital signs such as: manual BP, pulse rate, temperature, 02 level, weight and height, and properly records information into EMR. - Prepares exam rooms for examination of patients as well as stocking them. - Hands instruments and materials to provider as directed for certain procedure . - Cleans and sterilizes instruments. - Performs EKG's, urinalysis, strep test, flu test, covid test, mono test, pregnancy test, checks patients A1C, etc. - Gives injections per providers orders (intramuscular, intradermal, subcutaneous). - Handles portal messages from patients, refill medications, order additional labs or imaging as needed, complete prior authorizations, complete precertification for imaging, etc. - Must have effective communica...
