About the Role Join Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council as the Manager Town Services and lead the delivery of high-quality parks, gardens, and open space maintenance across the community. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring Council’s public spaces are safe, well-maintained, and presented to a high standard, while supporting and developing a local workforce. You will work closely with the Executive Manager Roads, Infrastructure and Essential Services to deliver efficient, safe, and cost-effective horticultural and town maintenance services. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and coordinate the maintenance of Council parks, gardens, and open spaces. - Apply horticultural knowledge to deliver routine and reactive maintenance activities such as planting, pruning, watering, pest control, and landscaping. - Establish and maintain sustainable gardens and community spaces. - Supervise and support staff, including rostering, performance management, and development. - Ensure safe operation, maintenance, and reporting of Council vehicles and plant. - Manage work programs, priorities, and reporting requirements. - Engage with community members and stakeholders to support local init...
