Maximum: Location : Salt Lake City, Utah Job Type: Full time Job Title: Sheetmetal Apprentice Job Description: GENERAL PURPOSE: Under general supervision, fabricates high quality sheet metal signs effectively and efficiently. Responsible to use and program cutting and welding equipment to cut and weld metals and other materials to create parts for sign assembly. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Reviews plans and diagrams to ensure accuracy of cutting of materials to create sign parts - Plans, prepares and uses materials to be cut in a matter to keep waste to a minimum - Cuts materials consistent with specifications of job order - Operates metal cutting equipment to accurately cut materials to job specifications - Operates welding equipment to weld sign parts together - Implements and maintains quality control and safety during material handling, cutting, and welding - Sands, polishes, and cleans cut materials - Lays out materials to be used for skinning/covering sign structures - Bends and shapes sign parts according to job specifications - Performs pre-painting and wiring preparation by cleaning and labeling of parts - Touches up paint and performs detail of signs - Performs...
