Job: Community Safety Officer (Thursday - Monday, 8am x 4pm RDO: Tuesday & Wednesday) Under the direction of officials charged with the responsibility for the security and safety of the persons and the property of Barnard College, The Community Safety Officer is expected to provide campus safety and security while monitoring access control of the College buildings, grounds, and sidewalks to identify and mitigate hazards and injury to all persons on campus. Provide assistance and directional information to the campus community as needed. Job Description: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Periodically tours buildings and grounds, examining doors, windows and gates to determine whether they are secured, as appropriate. - Communicate all access concerns to ensure the appropriate documentation, department response, and/or repair. - Maintain department records to indicate completed tasks at occurrence or specific intervals.
