ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Human Service Programs (DHSP) creates and coordinates services that enhance the quality of life for Cambridge residents. Driven by the needs of residents, DHSP’s extensive services and programs touch almost every sector in the city: from newborns to senior citizens, from school-aged children to homeless families, from non-profit organizations to local employers. ABOUT THE ROLE: The Community Schools Teacher is a member of the Community Schools site-based team responsible for the overall operation of the afterschool enrichment program for children in grades Kindergarten through Fifth grade. Reporting to the Program Director and Director, the Community Schools Teacher will lead child-centered, developmentally appropriate curriculum development and be responsible for the overall management of a classroom of children.
