Department: Office of the Provost, Faculty Development Center (FDC) UMBC is a Carnegie R1 research university known for its inclusive excellence, innovative teaching, and diverse student body. The Faculty Development Center (FDC) supports faculty and instructors in their teaching role at the university by providing a comprehensive program of services and resources. Position Overview: As a catalyst for institutional change, the Director of the FDC will foster cross-unit collaborations and partner with departments and units to design, implement, and evaluate high-impact initiatives that enhance student learning across all modalities. The Director will serve as a prominent voice in campus-wide pedagogical conversations - ranging from the advancement of inclusive excellence to addressing the role of AI in pedagogy. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader committed to strengthening the FDC capacity to serve a diverse faculty community and elevating the culture of teaching and learning at UMBC.
