Job Description Work Arrangement: This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Warren, Detroit, Austin, or Mountain View, you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at a minimum. Role Overview: The Life Insurance & Voluntary Programs Specialist supports the design, administration, and continuous improvement of GM’s U.S. benefit programs, with a focus on life insurance and voluntary benefit programs. Key Responsibilities: Program Operations & Governance: Support end‑to‑end administration of assigned life insurance and voluntary benefit programs. Maintain deep knowledge of plan provisions, eligibility rules, and collective bargaining language and translate them into clear procedures and employee‑facing materials. Develop and maintain program guides, desk procedures, training materials, and knowledge articles . Support internal controls, audits, and risk reviews for assigned programs. Serve as subject matter expert for voluntary benefits, evaluating competitiveness, participation, employee value, and financial impact; recommend enhancements or changes.
