Certified Nurse Midwife -OBGYN UHMG-92611 - ( 2600038N ) Description A Brief Overview: The Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) is an individual educated in the two disciplines of nursing and midwifery who has graduated from an ACNM-accredited education program and is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board. CNM practice includes the independent management of womens health care, pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, care of the newborn, family planning and gynecological services. The CNM demonstrates a high degree of clinical independence and expertise, and educates patients and their families to promote wellness, prevent health problems and maintain current health. This care occurs within the clinics and offices of University Hospitals/Cleveland Medical Center and all affiliated hospitals, facilities, and satellites within the system.The certified nurse-midwife practices in collaboration with an OB/GYN physician group.
