Patient Access - Admitting Rep

Job description

Shift: Rotate Hours: Responsible for inpatient, outpatient and Emergency Department admissions. Conducts patient interviews, completes admitting forms, assigns inpatient rooms, and discharges patients. Collections of patient copays, coinsurance deductibles and cash pay accounts. Making payment arrangements when necessary. Answers patient inquiries and helps resolve patient problems and/or issues. May act as hospital receptionist and PBX operator. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION: High School or Equivalent Preferred TRAINING: General business, computer skills, customer service skills. Medical terminology and hospital admitting experience preferred.
