Senior Highways Engineer (Major Projects Team, Highways)

Job description

Newham is an ambitious borough committed to putting people at the heart of everything we do. Highways, Sustainable Transport and Parking Services are universal front facing services that all of our residents and visitors interact with. Therefore, it is vital that we strengthen these services and make them as responsive to our residents’ needs as possible. The Senior Highways Engineer role is key to enabling us to achieve this goal, working in a team of professionals delivering major projects for the borough . Highway improvement projects are scattered around the borough, some of the projects include works within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Royal Docks and Canning Town area. These are multimillion pounds in value and Newham will be delivering these projects over the coming years. The post-holder will need to support Senior Project Manager to help the delivery of the projects and work with a team of professionals. It is expected the suitable candidate to be strong in highway design using AutoCAD and other relevant software and experience in level design.
