Cabinet Shop Carpenter (Full Time Day Shift) Position Summary At Stony Brook Medicine, our Carpenters are responsible for the construction and repair of structures and other items in Stony Brook Medicine and adjacent grounds. Qualified candidates should demonstrate excellent intrapersonal skills and time management skills. They should have attention to detail and be able to work with all levels of the organization. Duties of a Cabinet Shop Carpenter may include the following but are not limited to: - Ability to use machinery, tools(power and hand), equipment and materials of the Cabinet shop trade. - Working knowledge of the cabinet trade including cabinetry installations. Ability to install and adjust locks, hinges and other door hardware during the installation process. - Ability to read blueprints and specification related to the cabinetry field. - Possess good mathematical and spatial skills. - Ability to understand verbal and written instructions. Maintains an organized and clean work space and shop. - Ability to work with their hands and perform moderate to heavy labor including lifting in excess of 50 pounds and standing for extended periods of time.
