Position Overview: Are you a nursing student who is actively enrolled in an accredited nursing program? Are you looking for hands on experience while in nursing school? UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham is currently hiring for Student Nurse interns. - Department: Nursing Interns - Schedule : PRN, will include days, nights, or evening shifts and must work 48 hours in an 8-week scheduling period (including 1 weekend shift on Saturday or Sunday) - Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's East What You Will Do: Under the supervision of a nurse, provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. - Completes assigned nursing orders, including assisting patient with activities of daily living and taking vital signs. - Observes patient status and responses; documents and reports changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to appropriate staff. - Reports test results and patient observations to appropriate staff. - Documents all patient care accurately in the medical record. - Maintains a safe and orderly environment by keeping patient rooms clean and ensuring medical equipment is prepared and maintained. - Performs oth...
