Description The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, assistant or associate professor in comparative ophthalmology on an 11-month appointment. This position has an anticipated start date in Spring 2023 The successful candidate will devote up to 40% of his or her time to instruction, consultation and patient care in the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH). The remaining time will be devoted to integrative classroom and laboratory teaching, development of a creative program of scholarship and research, and academic service. Clinical duties will be shared among a total of three board-certified ophthalmologists and 2 ophthalmology residents. The Ophthalmology Service evaluates approximately 1100 small animal- and approximately 150 large animal-cases per year with the Ophthalmology clinicians additionally consulting on approximately 300-400 hospital cases per year.
