Job description

Position Summary: Responsible for the set-up and operation on a variety of machinery to produce a large assortment of parts or finishes often of a complex nature. Must apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics and machining procedures. Essential/Key Functions: Management reserves the right to add or modify the responsibilities at any time Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: - Verify correct product using job traveler. - Set-up and operate a variety of machinery (Lathe, Mill, Saw, Core Drill, Hob) to blueprint specifications. - Monitor machine performance and perform preventative maintenance to assure continuity of production. - Monitor and ensure all fluid levels are maintained on all equipment. - Monitor inventory levels and report low levels and discrepancies to supervisor. - Must use precision measuring tools specific to job. - Must use job specific hand tools. - Read part drawing with sectional views. - Lift, position and transport work piece with a hoist. - Must accurately record labor hours into E1 system. - Work independently; assist and train less experienced machinists. - Maintain plant standards...
