Job description

The Hall Director oversees a residential community housing approximately 517–1,084 students and supervises a team that may include 8–22 Resident Assistants (RAs), an Assistant Hall Director (AHD), and Office Assistants. This role is responsible for staff selection, training, evaluation, and ongoing development. The Hall Director collaborates closely with facilities, housekeeping, and campus partners to ensure efficient operations and a positive residential experience. The HD serves as a key leader in fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging community while managing student concerns, administrative processes, and emergency response. Staff Supervision & Development: - Select, train, supervise, and evaluate Assistant Hall Directors, Resident Assistants, and Office Assistants - Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities for staff - Facilitate regular staff meetings and training sessions - Instruct sessions during the Resident Assistant Symposium as part of the RA selection process Community Development & Student Engagement: - Develop and implement a comprehensive residence life program that promotes student learning and engagement - Maintain a visib...
