The Counsel position is an integral part of Delta Dental's legal team, supporting critical company initiatives in a collaborative team environment. As an attorney in the Legal department, this role protects the company's interests by gathering information, identifying/ evaluating options, preparing legal positions, providing counsel, and advising leadership on recommended courses of action. - Provide legal advice and assistance to enable the company to maximize/grow business and promote corporate values in accordance with local/state/federal laws. - Research, analyze, and keep current on laws, regulations, and court decisions affecting the company and the industry as a whole. Experience and knowledgeable about cybersecurity, data privacy compliance, incident response, HIPAA regulations and AI governance. - Empower business solutioning that avoids legal challenges and compliance issues. - Develop, review, and negotiate contracts , including but not limited to technology transactions such as SaaS agreements, cloud services, software licensing, vendor agreements, and AI related procurement . - Leverage legal expertise to execute projects and initiatives under the direction of a practi...
