Job Summary : Provides role as patient advocate through role modeling of standards of performance and by communicating and meeting patients’ needs for service. Assists registered nurses in direct care of patients. Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment on the unit through observation monitoring, interacting and providing/assisting in groups. Primary assignments include: Specifications: Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences preferred and/or comparable behavioral health experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Experience in working with mentally ill and/or developmentally delayed clients. Candidate must have excellent written skills. Excellent communication skills. External candidates: must have C.N.A certification. Internal candidates: must have or complete C.N.A. certification within 6 months of accepting position. Schedule: 40/80 Full Time Days / 7a-3:30p / Mon-Fri (Meal period assigned at 10:00a unless otherwise assigned by supervisor). Holiday requirements per CBA.)
