Job Overview Performs duties operating a large semi-tractor trailer or roll-off truck and other motorized equipment and vehicles used in the transport of bulk solid waste material. Supervising and controlling assigned staff and resources to achieve unit/section objectives in the absence of Management. Salary: $41,808 - $68,993 Ideal Candidate: The Hillsborough County Solid Waste Department is seeking to hire a LEAD Solid Waste Transfer Equipment Operator to serve as a leader over the nighttime hauling team at the Northwest Transfer Station in Town N Country. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in the operation of semi-tractor trailer transport, one of which as a supervisor or lead worker. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ideal candidate will possess skill in handling conflict with tact and diplomacy. Candidate will possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver License and have the ability to work the second and third shifts. Previous work in the solid waste industry is preferred.
