Job description

Job Summary: *This is a temporary, hourly, up to three-year appointment. * Reporting to the Associate Director of Architectural Trades & Auto Shop, and under the Lead Painter’s direction, the Painter performs journey-level painting and finishing work independently or as part of a team. Duties include applying finishes (brush, roll, spray, electrostatic), hanging wall coverings, mixing/matching paints, sand/water blasting, erecting scaffolding or rigging, and painting signs and roadway markings. The role also involves advising on materials, inspecting work (including contractors) for quality and code compliance, estimating project costs and timelines, supporting paint shop operations, maintaining tools and equipment, following safety procedures, keeping records, preparing reports, and collaborating with other trades. The Maintenance & Operations unit of Facilities Development & Operations provides maintenance and operations services to a university campus spread across multiple sites comprised of +167 acres, 81 buildings, and more than six million gross square feet.
