Control Operator III Summary The state-of-the-art Downtown Phoenix district cooling system is made up of three plants with 28,000 tons of cooling capacity, 96,000 ton-hrs of thermal storage capacity and over 21,000 trench feet of chilled water distribution system piping. The system supplies cold water to 47 buildings in the downtown area for comfort cooling. The Control Operator III will report to the Downtown Phoenix Operations Manager, will be responsible for day-to-day system operations and perform routine maintenance as needed, while observing and complying with all safety requirements. The primary objective is to ensure the plants are operated with regard to the priorities in order: Safety, Reliability and Efficiency. Requirements: Experience and Education - Responsible for operation and monitoring of all plant equipment.
