Purpose of the Role To support the shopping centre’s environmental operations by managing all waste and recycling activities during evening hours. The role ensures waste streams are handled safely, efficiently, and in line with compliance standards, maintaining a clean and well‑organised service yard and back‑of‑house environment. Key Responsibilities: Waste & Recycling Operations (18:00–23:00): Carry out scheduled waste collections from retailers and back‑of‑house areas. Correctly segregate waste across all streams: General waste Cardboard: Mixed recycling: Food waste: WEEE: Hazardous waste: Operate compactors, balers, and waste equipment safely and according to training. Break down cardboard and prepare recyclable materials for uplift. Keep the service yard, waste compound, and loading bays clean, tidy, and hazard‑free. Monitor contamination and report incorrect waste disposal or misuse of waste areas. Support retailers with waste queries and access to waste facilities. Environmental & Safety Compliance: Follow all environmental procedures, including duty of care and safe handling of materials. Report spills, leaks, pest activity, or environmental risks immediately.
