Job Summary: *This position is on a 10/12 Pay Plan, which means working 10 months per year, yet having salary paid out over 12 months. Salary is reflective of a 0.8 FTE. The Accessible Education Center (AEC) is seeking a skilled and dedicated Staff Interpreter to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Reporting to the Director of the Accessible Education Center, this position provides high-quality interpreting and transliterating services across a variety of academic settings, including complex and specialized coursework. Key Responsibilities: - Provide professional American Sign Language (ASL) and voice interpreting services in undergraduate, graduate, and specialized classes - Adapt interpreting to technical and discipline-specific subject matter - Maintain a flexible schedule to meet student needs - Assist with scheduling interpreters and Real-time Captioners Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Possess highly developed skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modes pertaining to the Deaf & Hard of Hearing population - Knowledge of complex subject matter that provides fluent, accurate, and specific translation while performing as an educational Interpreter...
