HOURLY RANGE: $127.404 - $133.654: $20/hr shift differential for off shift DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The work involves administering anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures within the Erie County Medical Center Corporation. The incumbent administers anesthesia and anesthesia care to facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical procedures. Work is performed in collaboration with a qualified anesthesiologist. Supervision is exercised over student anesthetists and other health care providers. Does related work as required. TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Performs and documents a pre-anesthetic assessment; develops and implements an anesthetic plan and initiates the technique; Selects and applies the appropriate non-invasive and invasive monitors; Selects and administers anesthetic adjuvant drugs and fluids to manage the anesthetic; Manages patient airway and pulmonary status; Facilitates emergence and recovery from anesthesia; Responds to emergency situations by providing airway management and advanced cardiac life support techniques; Provides clinical and didactic teaching to student anesthetists and other health care providers; Provides advanced cardiac life su...
