Description The Department of Marine Science at The University of Texas at Austin is built around research strengths in organismal biology, ecology, and (bio)geochemistry and seeks to fill three open-rank faculty positions in marine science. Individuals with strong records in phytoplankton physiology or ecology, macroinvertebrate physiology or ecology, benthic ecology, isotope and/or nutrient biogeochemistry, or inorganic geochemistry are especially encouraged to apply. Strong applicants in other areas of marine science will also be considered. Exceptionally qualified senior applicants may be considered for the H-E-B Endowed Chair in Marine Science . Successful applicants for these positions will be expected to establish a nationally or internationally recognized, extramurally funded research program and mentor research personnel (75% of time commitment) and teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels (25%). The positions are located at the University of Texas Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas, Texas, which holds strong collaborative ties to the research community in Austin and is in the process of expanding.
