Job Description Summary: Assist Licensed Genetic Counselors with direct and indirect patient care on the unit while also supporting the genetic testing processes of the department. The Genetic Counseling - Clinical Extender will play a vital role in collaborating with all interdisciplinary departmental staff. Assists with a variety of administrative and clinical tasks using scientific knowledge in biology and genetics. Tasks would include but are not limited to reviewing and obtaining medical records, collecting, and processing personal and family medical histories, preparing test kits and requisitions, packaging lab specimens, communicating with genetic testing laboratories about patient samples, tracking genetic tests and results, identifying patient resources for genetic diseases, obtain patient cost estimates and prior...
