Job description

Position Summary Single departmental function supervision and/or shift supervision in accordance with hospital policy. Responsible for the daily administration of tasks, scheduling and problem solving related to assigned areas. Position provides leadership to the hospital staff in the absence of the Department Directors and Administration. Responsible for the coordination of care resources, problem resolution, adequate staffing and communication to Department Directors and Administration with issues of concern. Serves as an administrative representative for the hospital. Serves as liaison with Staff Management and the Medical Staff. Interprets and implements organizational goals. Identifies and prioritizes what needs to be done in terms of patient care and unit tasks. Estimates patient workloads and ensures staffing reflects workloads. Interprets and ensures compliance with policies & procedures, standards of practice and standards of care necessary and relevant to the department.
