Job description

Background: UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. In the Europe and Central Asia region, the Regional Office provides support and oversight to seven Country Offices in Albania, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Ukraine. In addition, programme/project presence is directly supported by the RO, in Kosovo, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Serbia, Tajikistan and Turkey. Since it was established in 2014 in Istanbul, UN Women Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (ECA RO) has established itself as one of the key players in gender equality and women’s empowerment and as a champion for women and girls in the region.
