Job DetailsJob Location: THOMPSON HARDWOODS INC - HAZLEHURST, GA 31539Job Shift: Night ShiftDuties and Responsibilities: Must keep the lumber straight as it feeds through the Sawmill. Prevents clogs and cross ups on the feed belts and chains. Primary Duties: Monitors and straightens the lumber as it feeds through the Sawmill, to prevent jams and clogs. Use a lumber pick to straighten the lumber. Operates the control panel to stop the chain feed, when jams occur, to prevent jams from causing equipment damage leading to sawmill downtime. Must be proactive when observing lumber being run through the sawmill to prevent jams and stops. Must wear PPE at all times when working in the sawmill. Secondary Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor. Assists other workers when needed. Must keep your work area clean and orderly at all times. Do not walk out on the chain and belt feeds without first shutting them off. Must be willing to cross train on other jobs as needed. Must be willing to work overtime as needed such as, Saturdays, Sundays, and extended workdays when necessary. Must be willing to work in an environment that is noisy and dusty and not environmentally controlle...
