Job description

The Commercial Rear/Side Load Driver will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services to commercial customers. The driver will collect solid waste or recyclables from commercial buildings, and transporting to post-collection facilities. Key Responsibilities: Safely operate a commercial waste/recycling collection vehicle, including side-load and/or rear-load trucks, ancillary equipment, and hydraulic systems for waste and recyclables collection. Load solid waste or recyclables into the truck, ensuring proper compaction of materials. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, complete daily truck reports, and document route sheets. Report any mechanical issues immediately to the mechanic or supervisor. Adhere to company safety standards and federal, provincial, and local regulations during the collection process. Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, both interior and exterior. Identify prohibited waste items, tag them, and remove them from the collection cart or can. Supervise and support assigned Helper(s) as needed.
