Job description

In the Department of Health, Human, and Veterans Services, the Medical Assistant 1 works with the Clinical Care Services/Public Health clinic team in delivering vital health services to the community. The Medical Assistant 1, under clinic leadership supervision, provides both administrative and clinical support to ensure delivery of high quality, efficient and compassionate care. Required Tasks: - Registering patients, performing insurance verification, and collecting payments. - Scheduling appointments and managing providers schedules - Answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and handling correspondence including faxes, scanning, and mail. - Updating and maintaining patient records and electronic health records (EHR). - Managing inventory of medical and office supplies and maintenance of equipment. - Collecting and documenting patient information such as medical history, purpose of visit, results, into electronic health record. - Preparing examination rooms and ensuring rooms are stocked. - Preparing patients for examination by performing preliminary tests and screening; taking vital signs; and obtaining patient history summary. - Preparing patients for medical procedures...
