Overview This is a Labor Service Position. Brief Job Description (essential functions of the position):Responsible for the installation, erection, and painting of signs, poles, traffic control devices, and appurtenances; paints and marks loading zones and other traffic lane lines on the street, pavement, and curbs, applies plastic stripping. Responsibilities: May be required to work during an emergency as determined by the Commissioner or designee. - Operates lane marking machines; excavates and prepares the ground for the erection of signs, meters, and signal posts; straightens poles with appropriate tools. - Maintains, installs, and removes pedestrian delineators. - Assists with the placement of VMS boards. - Operates hand, electric, and hydraulic-powered tools and compressors. - Maintains a record of all completed work performed by the work crew. - Participates in the fabrication of signs as directed by all sign shop employees in a higher grade, the Sign Shop Supervisor, and/or the Director of Operations. - Performs related duties as required.
