Job Description Primary Duties: The Automotive Mechanic’s primary responsibility is to add value to each client’s transaction ensuring that they are satisfied with their experience buying at Western Auto and that upon leaving the store are completely satisfied with their purchase. Using technical knowledge, removes, repairs, or replaces and installs automotive parts using the tools, equipment, or the manual procedures that are safe and appropriate. Performs other automotive mechanical services as needed and authorized. Reads and comprehends training manuals, service tickets, etc. Has extensive knowledge about vehicles and Western Auto services - brakes, alignment, air conditioning, suspension, front wheel assembly repair, etc. Checks basic elements of the vehicle according to Western Auto’s methods for mechanical, electric, and courtesy inspections. Uses the diagnostic and alignment machines correctly. Has a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and the ability to drive cars with manual or automatic transmissions. Must have their own tools.
