Network Technician (WAN Transport Operations)

Job description

Overview Abacus Technology is seeking a Network Technician to provide WAN Transport Operations support for the AFCENT Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC) at Shaw AFB as part of a 24/7/365 support environment. This is a full-time position. Responsibilities: - Troubleshoot and develop solutions with LAN/WAN protocols such as Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP). - Configure, monitor and troubleshoot IP/MPLS backbone network. - Assist with the installation and configuration of existing and new WAN transport systems as directed by the USAFCENT/A6 leadership. - Develop standardized testing and cutover plans for USAFCENT WAN new equipment. - Establish testing and remote monitoring procedures to ensure reliable operation of WAN transport in theater. - Collect networking metrics for analysis to determine sub-standard network performance both remotely and locally. - Analyze a myriad of networking metrics and recognize sub-par network performance. - Configure and troubleshoot QOS involving policing, shaping and queuing. - Report system and network documented finds for analysis and trending of bandwidth...
