Job description

SUMMARY: Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on M240D machine guns and other associated equipment, mounts, squibs, CAD/PAD, and shop support items in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures and the PWS. MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES: - Performs cleaning and corrosion treatment on gun system components. - Removes and replaces aircraft installed weapons systems components and equipment. - Removes and installs guns. - Perform flightline functions including preflight and postflight weapons requirements to include guard duties as directed. - Document all inspection and maintenance actions in aircraft forms and IMDS. - Follows established armory and maintenance room security procedures. - Complies with flightline munitions accountability requirements IAW AFI 21-201. - Conducts weapons academy training IAW AFI 21-101 for Weapons Mechanics as needed. - Provides technical advice, guidance, and assistance to weapons maintenance personnel and others. - Performs Red X and IPI inspections. - Performs basic helicopter ground handling procedures such as towing, jacking, refuel/defuel as needed. - Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at al...
