Intern - Safety Management

Job description

Responsibilities: The Safety Intern will assist the full-time on-site Safety Manager and project team in promoting and maintaining a safe working environment across Wharton-Smith job sites to include: - Assist with jobsite safety inspections and hazard identification to help maintain a safe work environment - Support implementation of the project safety plan and Wharton-Smith safety policies - Monitor jobsite activities to ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices - Assist with documentation of incidents, near-misses, and safety observations - Support safety meetings and safety training initiatives - Maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentation - Other tasks as directed by the Safety Manager or project leadership team Qualifications: - Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards - Ability to perform jobsite safety inspections and hazard recognition - Familiarity with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and enforcement - Understanding of incident reporting and investigation procedures - Ability to review and support site-specific safety plans (SSSP) - Experience maintaining safety documen...
