Overview: LPN / LVN – Oncology: Location: Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME Full-time | Nights | 7p–7a | 12-Hour Shifts The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) provides direct and indirect patient care in a specialized Oncology unit. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), this role supports cancer patient care, symptom management, and treatment support, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality outcomes while enhancing the patient experience. Responsibilities: - Provide bedside care for oncology and hematology patients - Monitor vital signs, symptoms, and treatment side effects (e.g., pain, nausea, fatigue) - Assist with medication administration, IV therapy, and blood draws - Support chemotherapy/infusion processes (within scope of practice) - Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and oncology care teams - Ensure patient safety, infection control, and protective precautions - Document care in EMR/EHR systems - Communicate changes in patient condition promptly - Provide compassionate support...
