Shift: Rotate Job type: Full Time: Hours: Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Patient Care Services/Shift Manager/Designee, the Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Responsible for the preoperative preparation of patients, including baseline assessment, skin preparation as required, and completion of the surgical checklist. Responsible for Phase II recovery of surgical patients including monitoring of physiological status, surgical wound care and discharge teaching. Position Accountabilities: 1. Adheres to DMC practices for moderate sedation. Identifies resources for guidelines to ensure safe care and monitoring of patients. 2. Identifies patients at risk for abuse as well as associated signs and symptoms. States mandatory reporting requirements for healthcare professionals. 3. Ensures patient safety by assessing and proactively implementing safety measures with specific consideration of patient’s functional and developmental age. 4.
