$2,500 Sign-on Bonus JOB CATEGORY: MENTAL HEALTH/ BEHAVIORAL HEALTH / SUBSTANCE USE / COUNSELOR: POSITION SUMMARY: This is a professional position providing drug and alcohol abuse counseling to Behavioral Health clients. REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: - Minimum of an Associates of Arts degree. - Knowledge of alcoholism and drug addiction, substance abuse treatment techniques, and twelve-step recovery programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous required. - Recovering counselors must be drug and alcohol-free a minimum of two years prior to employment. - At least six months experience interviewing, screening and assessing abuse clients required. - Experience in objective testing (e.g., SASSI, AUP) related to substance abuse issues as well as training and/or education in substance abuse issues required. - Experience developing and implementing educational / preventative outreach programs strongly preferred.
