KSBY, the E.W. Scripps NBC affiliate in San Luis Obispo, CA, is looking for a Multimedia Journalist to join our team. As an MMJ on California’s beautiful Central Coast, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the local community through compelling storytelling and community involvement. You will report, write, capture video, edit, and present content for newscasts and digital platforms. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Pitch and develop news stories for broadcast, website, and digital platforms Evaluate news leads and tips to develop story ideas Receive editorial feedback, coaching, and technical support from main newsroom staff Gather and verify information through interviews, observation and research Organize material, determine focus and write story according to prescribed style and standards Create, cultivate, and maintain valuable sources in the community Capture video, write, and edit content for newscasts, programs, online, and digital platforms Record video, conduct interviews, and build graphics to enhance storytelling Write engaging stories that adhere to proper editorial style and AP format Deliver live reports from the field or appear on camera for recorded segments W...
